Small joys

Where I live, it is a real legit desert. Right now is monsoon season, and there are a ton of rain storms. It is 8:42 PM, so whenever lightning strikes, it makes the clouds glow as an eerie back drop to the forks of lightning, piercing the sky like a knife. Bethie stood looking at it through the courtyard door, which is hidden to the sky by the rest of the house. She had her face pressed up to the glass, so I whispered in her ear, "you can see it better from the back door." She leapt up, and raced to the back door, and just about ran into it when she stopped and squished her nose up to the glass again. When lightning struck, she jumped around, and with a big grin on her face screamed "SO COOL!!!!!!!" As you can imagine, a little five year old doing this was very amusing. In the spirit of the rain here, I'd like to share a little poem from my friend.

Some people call it a childish stain
But it is sinful to lie
For one receives energy from dancing in the rain
And the thunder is only their battle cry.

Today was great! My mom woke me up by having Bethie jump on the bed, and them we went to this really yummy place for breakfast. It had all you can eat French toast that was covered in caramel syrup. I've never had yummier French toast in my life!!! I had to do normal Saturday chores, but that was OK. I got to go to the mall with my friend Kira. She is so funny. We tried on weird pants and looked at clothes. I tried on this really pretty prom dress at this cool place called Windsor.
It looked like this but it didn't have them jems and it did have a big brown silk sash. When I got home I had to babysit Bethie, cause my parents were going on a date. Holly and Helen generally babysit themselves because they are 9 and 10, but I'm surprised one of them hasn't died yet. I made them mini pizzas and turned on this really funny old movie called Big Fat Liar on. Now they're watching a movie about a guy whose wife was brutally murdered by a serial killer. In a twist of events, his only son is kidnapped and he has to travel 1,000 miles with an insane lady to get him. The name of the movie is Finding Nemo. Gotcha!!! Tomorrow is a Sunday, so I won't be able to post. I'll see you all on Monday!!!

Today has been OK, I guess. My cousin was here and my dad took my family to a Mexican grocery store. It was kind of cool, but I felt really weird 'cuz we white. note- it didn't help that everyone was STARING at us. I got really tired and my dad got mad at me because I was being a little reserved. But really, there wasn't all that much interesting stuff there, because it was like a typical grocery store but with Mexican stuff. There was, however, a cute little restaurant and a really large selection of meat. There was a whole cow head for sale!

Gross, huh? Then we went to this store that had every kind of candy you could ever imagine, plus a little more, and then went home. For those of you with 5 year old sisters, you will appreciate this next part. So a while ago, my grandma bought Bethie some of these toys called woodsies. They're like little fuzzy animals with hundreds of accessories. She LOVES them. She keeps track of even the smallest pieces. It's really funny. So today my mom had to take my grandma to a doctor's appointment, and I was looking for something to do while Helen and Holly played dolls. So I asked my grandma if I could borrow the woodsies for me and Bethie to play with and she agrees. So I set them out on the kitchen table and called her. When she came over she got a very serene, very important looking look on her face and said "Anne, you can help organize the woodsies today." It was all I could do not to laugh, so I said with an equally serene face that I would do my best. My Grandma laughed and laughed when she heard, and said I did the exact same thing when I was 5.
OK. I am finally starting a blog in place of a journal. It will be open to the everyone, so seriously READ IT; but I want everyone to know that true names will not be revealed, but true feelings and events will.(sorry that was a little sappy.) So a little about me and my life. My real name is not Anne Nonymous. That is a play on the word "anonymous" which means their true name isn't revealed. I am 14 and I'm going into 9th grade at a charter school. In my family are my Mom, my Dad, and my 3 little sisters: Helen, Holly, and Bethie. There's my dog, Ringo, and my Grandma. Oh, and my fish, Usher.(Note- these people are real, but these are NOT their real names). I do have a religion, but I'm not going to say what it is. The one rule of my blog is NO JUDGING. I am going to write a post every day in the attempt to fully record a realistic teenage life. This is an official "blog warming" as people are calling it these days. Another thing, this blog is not supposed to be a venting page, so I apologize in advance if I post the occasional vent. My blog is meant to discuss real life. So check it out daily!!!
